Our horses are the most important part of our lesson program! Every horse we ride teaches us something, and all of ours are great assistant trainers and are worth their weight in gold! Take a moment to learn about each of them.

Branson – 2009 bay 15.1h Arabian/QH gelding
Show Name: Third Time’s The Charm
Branson has turned out to be a great Jumper! He is occasionally found in the lesson program as well, but his occasional attitude prevents him from being in it regularly.
Branson is owned by Sydney.

Chase – 2017 chestnut grade QH (maybe some Paso Fino??!) gelding
Chase is a super fun little guy! His preferred speed is fast, but he will go whatever speed his rider asks him for. He has really taken to jumping and is quite popular in the lesson program. His nickname is Hot Dog 🙂

Cider – 2016 OTTB chestnut mare
Jockey Club name – Coach Machen
Cider is from Long Meadow Equine Rescue. She came to us as a rehab project (her feet were in horrible shape and she needed to gain weight) and has been in quarantine since October. She recently was cleared to go out with other horses and hopefully we’ll be able to start working with her soon. Her ground manners have been good the whole time she’s been here, both for grooming and farrier work, so hopefully she’ll also be good to ride!

Cleo – 2002 black grade QH mare
Cleo is a wonderful addition to our lesson program! She’s really sweet and seems pretty unflappable. She can be cranky to tack up, but she’s a good horse to ride!

Cole – 2003 black Mountain Pleasure Horse gelding
Cole is a sweet soul that sometimes gaits, but most of the time does walk, trot and canter just fine. He also seems to enjoy jumping!
Cole belongs to Maddie.

Cricket – ~2009 grey 14.1h QH/Arab mare
We got Cricket from Long Meadow Equine Rescue. While she started out a very green large pony, she has finished up to be a really talented jumping machine!
Cricket belongs to Hannah.

Eleanor – 2018 dark bay 15.3h OTTB mare
Registered Name: Regal Honor
Eleanor was adopted through New Vocations. She’s a super quiet girl who was retired from racing for being “non-competitive”. She’s got a great brain, but can be little particular about how she’s ridden. We’re hoping that she will be introduced to the lesson program at some point.

Elvis – 2007 dark bay 15.2h Standardbred/draft? gelding
Elvis was recently purchased from a family. They adopted him from a rescue in PA. He was an Amish driving horse. So far he’s proven to be a really good citizen that is trying to figure out what we want.

Franklin was recently adopted from Colby’s Crew Rescue. He’s a very aged buggy horse, but he has plenty of energy left. He’s already going in lower level lessons and has a growing fan club!

Ginger – 2001 chestnut 14.1h QH/Welsh mare
Show Name: Ginger Snap
Ginger has VERY smooth gaits and is great for all levels of riders. Her steering isn’t always the best and she can sometimes get a little quick, but everyone seems to like riding her! Doesn’t hurt that she’s super comfy.

Gus – 2011 16h Draft/Paint/Walking Horse (?!?! who knows) gelding
Show Name: With Gusto

Jimmie – 2018 dark bay 15.2h OTTB gelding
Registered Name: Jaime Jamel
Jimmie is a young guy that seems really eager to learn. He definitely has some opinions and they occasionally come out in misbehavior, but overall he’s a fun ride.
Jimmie is owned by Maeve & Catherine.

Kai – 2015 bay 16h Dutch Harness Horse mare
Show Name: Yippee Kai Yay
Kai was adopted from Colby’s Crew Rescue . They got her from an auction in 2022 and felt that she had little to no handling prior to that. They sent her to a trainer who put a really nice foundation of groundwork and initial riding on her. She’s really coming along in her training and has competed in a few Jumper shows and started to go in some lessons. She’s not a brave soul, but she LOVES to jump!
She was diagnosed with Head Shakers Syndrome, but we are working with vets to come up with the best management plan. So far, we seem to have found a fairly good combination.

Kodi – 2002 ApHC 15.1h gelding
Registered Name: Kodiak Cassanova
Kodi is a lazy boy that teaches riders to be assertive and how to use a driving seat aid (or he doesn’t move…). But he is very capable once you get him going. He’s great for teaching people to jump since he’s so quiet and honest to the fences!
Kodi is half leased by Paula.

Mango – 1999 chestnut QH mare
Mango is from Long Meadow Equine Rescue. She is a perfect walk/trot pony for little ones. If you ever see her swaying by the gate, she’s telling you she’s ready for more food 🙂 She’s a weaver, which is a vice, but is kind of cute.

Miles is a really sweet, big boy. Due to some injuries, he is a great walking companion.

Popcorn is owned by Nora.

Skittles – 2005 chestnut grade QH mare
Skittles is from Long Meadow Equine Rescue. Originally, we got her as a walk/trot horse. She thought that was pretty boring though and has really taken to jumping. She requires a little more steering than some of our other lesson horses, but she’s a good girl.
Skittles is half leased by Ella.

Snickerdoodle – 2004 palomino grade pony gelding
Snickerdoodle is from Colby’s Crew. While he’s an older gentleman, he has a lot of spunk to him. He’s super fun to ride and SO adorable! He’s starting to be used in lessons and we’re hoping he’ll be a popular choice this year. He is currently WTC and going over small jumps.

Titus – 2009 dun 14.3h Paint gelding
Show Name: Titus
Titus belongs to Madi. He is a great little guy with a pretty amazing jump! He’s pretty popular since he’s so cute, but also because he’s such a good boy to ride (even for little kids!). You need to have sticky legs if he thinks the jump is scary though – his knees come up to his eyeballs!!
Titus is half leased by Chelsea.

Tyler – 2004 chestnut 15h QH cross gelding
We are leasing Tyler from a local owner. In his prime he did Beginner Novice eventing! But he had been sitting for a couple years before we got him. Now that we’ve gotten him back into shape, he’s become very popular in the jumping lessons!
